The Six-Month Career Switch Playbook

Career changes rarely fail from lack of effort. They fail because the plan is vague. 'Learn to code' is not a plan; 'ship three portfolio projects by March and apply to fifteen roles a week' is.

Month one is for proof of fit. Shadow someone, take a short course, do a small real project. You're testing whether you enjoy the daily work, not the idea of the job.

Months two and three are for structured skill-building. Pick one recognized curriculum and finish it. Collect evidence — projects, certifications, references — not just knowledge.

Month four is translation. Rewrite your CV so your past experience reads as an asset in the new field. Most switchers undersell transferable skills; this is where a coach earns their fee.

Months five and six are execution: targeted applications, interview reps, and weekly reviews of what's landing. Expect rejections; measure response rate, not emotions.

Our clients follow this playbook with a mentor reviewing each month. If you're considering a switch, the first call is free.
